For travellers
Announce a trip, choose who answers.
Announcing a trip
Say where you are going and when — a city or district, never an address — with up to 5 stops in the order you travel. Say how many of you there are (up to 6) and what you are open to: a place to stay, meeting up, events and things to do. You can have 2 trips open at the same time, so a route can go in pieces: “Istanbul first, then either Ankara or Izmir, depending on who answers.”
Who you are — your gender, age range and what you do — comes from your travel profile and is the same on every trip. Travelling companions are described the same way. Nobody ever sees a year of birth, only an age range, and everyone travelling must be 18 or over.
Your trip is shown only to signed-in members. Members who live near one of your stops see it under “Coming your way”, and those who keep radar on get one notification a day at most.
Offers
A member near your route can offer to host you, meet you, or bring you along to something — with a short note. Only you see the offers; other members see neither the text nor how many there are, so nobody competes for you and nobody pressures you. A hosting offer shows you the member’s home card: where you would sleep, who lives there, the house rules and, if they added them, photos of the place.
Accepting an offer opens a conversation between the two of you; declining opens nothing and the member is simply told no. Someone offering to host must have an open home card and an account at least 7 days old; meeting and invitations are open to newer members too — the first step of trust.
From an offer to a plan
Once you are talking, either of you proposes a plan — the dates, the kind of plan — and the other confirms. A confirmed plan sits in both calendars. If your dates move and you have to cancel, do it early: cancelling less than 3 days before the plan starts counts as last-minute for whoever cancels, and costs 3 trust points and a 7-day pause on new plans. The other side is never penalised.
When the plan is over, both of you say whether it happened. If it did, each of you may write a reference within 14 days — how references work.
